Digitalised ‘Sirithu Vaazha Vendum’ to release on MGR’s birthday
‘Sirithu Vaazha Vendum’ starred MGR in dual roles and became a huge hit when it was released in 1974. Directed by S.S. Balan, the file had Latha pair opposite MGR as the female lead. The film, which has been digitalised using modern technology, is being prepared for release on January 17, commemorating the birth anniversary of MGR.
Apart from MGR and Latha, the film also features MN Nambiar, Manohar, Thengai Srinivasan, Ishari Velan, SV Ramadoss, VS Raghavan, L. Kanchana and the songs are written by Vaali and Pulamaipitthan and the music is composed by M.S.Viswanathan.
Pulamaipitthan wrote the song that starts off as ‘Ulagam Ennum..’ and singers, Sheikh Salamat and DM Soundararajan, rendered their voices to the song. The songs ‘Ennathil Nalamirundhal’ and ‘Ondre solvaan nandre seivaan’ were chartbusters. ‘Ponmana semmalai punpada seidhathu yaaro’ is another song that received a huge response from the fans and audience.
‘Idhayam Pesugiradhu’ Maniyan, Vidvaan V. Laxman along with Udayam Productions produced the film that was directed by S.S. Vasan’s son S.S. Balan.
