பிஎஸ்கே எஸ்சி மணி மேகலை:  விஜய் தொலைக்காட்சி சூப்பர் சிங்கர்-5 வெற்றியாளராளர் ஆனந்த் அரவிந்தாக்‌ஷன் ஏற்கனவே பல படங்களில் பாடிய பின்னணிப் பாடகர் என்பதை ஒப்புக்கொண்ட விஜய் டிவி, பின்னணிப் பாடகர்கள் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்கக் கூடாது என்ற எந்தக் கட்டுப்பாடும் இல்லை என்று பதிலளித்துள்ளது.

இது குறித்து த நியூஸ் மினிட் (The News Minute) என்ற இணையதளத்திற்கு விஜய் தொலைக்காட்சி நிகழ்ச்சிகளின் தலைவர் பிரதீப் மில்ரோய் பீட்டர் அளித்துள்ள தகவலில், “எங்களுடைய போட்டி விதிமுறைகளில், எங்குமே திரைப்படங்களில் இடம்பெற்றவர்களோ அல்லது பின்னணிப் பாடகர்களோ போட்டியில் பங்குபெற முடியாது என்று குறிப்பிடப்படவில்லை” என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

மேலும், ஆனந்த் ஒரு பின்னணிப் பாடகர் என்பதில் எந்த ஒரு ஒளிவு மறைவும் இல்லை என்று கூறியிருக்கும் விஜய் தொலைக்காட்சி, முதல் நேர்காணலின்போது ஆனந்த் இதைத் தங்களிடம் தெரிவித்துவிட்டதாகவும் கூறியுள்ளது.

“தான் பின்னணி பாடியிருப்பதை அவர் எங்களிடம் தெரிவித்தார். ஆனால், தான் அவ்வளவு பிரபலம் இல்லை என்பதால், தான் போட்டியில் கலந்து கொள்ள வந்ததாகவும், இந்தப் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்றால் உலகம் முழுவதும் உள்ள மக்களிடம் அறிமுகமாகலாம் என்றும் அவர் கூறினார்” என்று பிரதீப் கூறியுள்ளார்.

“இந்தச் செய்தியைப் பரப்பியவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக முழு நிகழ்ச்சியையும் பார்த்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள். தொடர்ந்து நிகழ்ச்சியைப் பார்த்து வந்தவர்களுக்குத் தெரியும் அவர் இதற்கு முன்பு பின்னணி பாடியிருக்கிறார் என்று. நாங்கள் எதையும் மறைக்கவில்லை” என்றும் பிரதீப் கூறியுள்ளார்.

மேலும், நான்கு ஐந்து வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு பின்னணிப் பாடகர்கள் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்கக் கூடாது என்ற விதிமுறை இருந்ததாகவும், ஆனால் சூப்பர் சிங்கர் 3-லேயே அந்தக் கட்டுப்பாடு நீக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டதாகவும் பிரதீப் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

“ஒரு பின்னணிப் பாடகரே எங்களது போட்டியில் வந்து கலந்து கொள்கிறார் என்றால், அதை நாங்கள் பெருமையாக நினைக்கமாட்டோமா?” என்றும் பிரதீப் கேள்வி எழுப்பியுள்ளார்.

ஆனந்த் வெற்றி பெற்றதாக அறிவித்த அந்த நேரத்தில், மேடைக்கு வந்த இசையமைப்பாளர் சந்தோஷ் நாராயணன், என்னுடைய அடுத்த படத்தில் ஆனந்த் பாடுகிறார் என்றவுடன், ஆனந்த் தனது முகத்தில் காட்டினாரே ஒரு சந்தோஷம்! அடடா!

If you have changed the regulations after 4 years in a way to admit playback singers, has it ever been made public? With the public’s outcry happening now, isn’t it clear enough that whatever the change in regulation that you claim to have made has never reached them at all? Why that ‘so called’ change had to remain that confidential Mr.Pradeep? Or is it because that you wanted it in that way?

Moreover can you tell, how many playback singers have participated in the show after that “infamous change” had been made?

If nobody, then why suddenly a playback singer pops out now and wins the title, who incidentally belongs to the same state where you hail from?

As usual, you blame the show’s audience. Good.. They deserve this. Finally, to top it all, your explanation is nothing but just bullshit, as we already knew what you and your people did for Jessica in the last season, who supposed to be the winner according to audience’s votes.

Spicyonion.com: A Facebook post went viral, when a user pointed out that Anand Aravindakshan, winner of Super Singer 2016, Season 5, was already a playback singer, who had sung songs in Aarohanam and plenty of other Tamil films since 2012. He has also sung a song in “Neerparavai”, which is a popular film as well.

What sparked the controversy was that many viewers of the show claimed that the Channel, being run by Mallus (Malayalis), was plotting to make a  winner out of a Malayali, thereby making him popular as a singer! Critics of the show got a shot in the arm, when this revelation happened on the social media yesterday.

Anand Aravindakshan has been a playback singer for popular films as Ivan Vera Madhiri, 10 Enrathukulla, Pandiya Nadu and Madhayaanai Koottam. All of these films are mainstream feature films. They had also received good attention from the audiences!

To top it all, a post highlighted that on the stage, the host said that popular music director Santhosh Narayanan would offer him a song, as though he was a fresh candidate, while Anand so humbly accepted it. Since then, there has been many Facebook posts and Tweets making fun of the channel’s “ethics”, which actually claimed it to be a “reality show”. Everyone highlighted the unethical practice of the Television channel and the show producers.

However, Pradeep Milroy Peter, Programming Head at Star Vijay TV, has clarified that there were no rules that playback singers could not contest in Super Singer. They had also scrapped the rule after the first three seasons because most of the participants had sung tracks and religious numbers for popular musicians.

Since it gave rise to technical difficulties in qualifying participants, they had long removed the rules. He also clearly stated that those rules were not at all applicable for the current show and that the channel would be proud, if playback singers would want to participate in the show. So, the show was open for all. In the initial interview, he said, Anand Aravindakshan stated that he had sung songs as a playback singer but wanted the world to notice him and his talents enough and so wanted to contest in Super Singer.

Still, the audiences argue that it was “not fair competition”, if they would bring in a popular playback singer and put him in contest with other singers, who were fresh and raw. They also pointed at a huge gap between the claims of the show as a “reality show” and being unethical in allegedly scripting a winner. The audiences also suspect that they deliberately made him a “Wild Card Entry” and helped him regain the top spot. After these allegations, the TV Channel has now clarified that it has not flouted its own rules nor is it an unfair practice.

However, the audience claim it is “unethical” for they are not sure, if the winner is selected through SMS voting, which they suspect to be a ploy to generate revenue and as a sort of “make-believe”, to attract interests to the show. Though considered just as “unethical” by the viewers, the questions that linger are: “Was the show scripted to bring up a Malayali winner and to make him popular?” And “Are the winners really chosen by audience votes via SMS?”

Surely, Airtel Super Singer 5 and Star Vijay TV have raised more questions than answers.
